In a distinguished celebration held at the main campus of the American University in the Emirates (AUE) in Dubai International Academic City, on the remarkable date of 25.5.25, the university, in the presence of its President, Professor Muthanna Abdul Razzaq, along with all members of the administrative and academic staff, announced two major achievements that reflect its pioneering role in academic excellence and innovation in the region. The event radiated an atmosphere of pride and honor befitting the occasion.

AUE, an institution accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), revealed a historic milestone: the College of Media and Mass Communication (CMMC) has obtained academic accreditation from the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC). With this achievement, AUE joins an elite group of prestigious academic institutions worldwide and becomes one of the few universities outside the United States to receive this distinguished global accreditation.

In another groundbreaking step reinforcing its leadership in academic innovation, the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) has received approval from SACSCOC to launch three academic programs, the only ones of their kind in the UAE with this international distinction:

Master’s in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity Engineering
Bachelor’s in Mechatronics Engineering

These pioneering programs have been meticulously designed to keep pace with rapid technological advancement and address the growing demand for experts in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and robotics. This approval marks a bold strategic move toward aligning the university’s academic offerings with global market needs and delivering education that meets prestigious international standards.

In his address during the ceremony, Professor Muthanna Abdul Razzaq, President and CEO of AUE, stated:
